In March 2022, the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro gaming smartphones were launched in China. The duo will now be available globally beginning next week. The Black Shark 5 series smartphones will be released globally on June 8, and the Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro devices have been spotted on NBTC (National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission) in Thailand.

The Black Shark 5 is listed with SHARK PAR-HOTH on the NBTC website, and the Black Shark 5 Pro is listed with SHARK KTUS-HO on the same database. With this certification, the Black Shark 5 series is now ready to go global next week. Let's take a look at the device's specifications.

Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro: Specifications

The Black Shark 5 and 5 Pro both have a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with 1300 nits of peak brightness, HDR10+, DC Dimming, and a touch sampling rate of 720Hz. The phones also have a dual-zone pressure-sensitive display, similar to the iQoo 9 series. In terms of screen refresh rate, the devices can provide up to 144Hz.

In terms of processing power, the Shark 5 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, while the standard model is powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC. Because these are gaming smartphones, they both have a VC cooling system and dedicated trigger buttons for an enhanced gaming experience.

The 5 Pro features a 108MP main camera, a 13MP ultrawide camera, and a 5MP telephoto camera. The standard model comes with a 64MP main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 13MP ultrawide sensor. The phones have a 16MP front camera for selfies. The phones have a 4650 battery unit with 120W fast charging support, and they run Android 12-based JoyUI 13 out of the box. On the back, the devices have a SharkEye RGB light effect.
