Jurassic World Dominion will be released in 2022, four years after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, completing the second Jurassic trilogy centred on the aftermath of the titular theme park. Colin Trevorrow (Jurassic World director) will be back in charge, putting Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt through their paces.

Jurassic World Dominion was originally scheduled to hit theatres on June 11, 2021. However, the COVID-19 pandemic forced all productions to halt due to safety and health concerns, resulting in a year-long delay, along with long-term theatre closures. The original release date was set in February of 2018, but principal photography on Jurassic World Dominion did not begin until late February of 2020. The official release date for Jurassic World 3 has been set for June 10, 2022.

If Steven Spielberg's reaction to Jurassic World 3 is any indication, fans of the franchise should be especially excited about the third instalment. Unlike many other popular reboot franchises, the Jurassic Park series hasn't been marred by controversy over its actors or directors, with the only flaw being the delays (obviously, these circumstances were unavoidable). Jurassic World 3 Release Date 

The film's original release date of June 11, 2021, was pushed back due to the pandemic. Fortunately, the film was mostly finished at the time of Universal Pictures' date change, which pushed the film's new release date back a year. Jurassic World Dominion has been set to open in theatres on June 10, 2022, following its completion. Post-production has already been completed, and while theatres are still experiencing capacity issues, fans will be able to see it on the big screen. If you can't make it to the theatre, the film will be available on Amazon Prime sometime after its theatrical run, thanks to a new partnership between Universal Pictures and the streaming service.

Jurassic World's Main Stars Will Return

Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard have both agreed to reprise their roles in Jurassic World Dominion. They've been at the heart of the series since its inception in 2015, so it only makes sense for them to complete the series. Isabella Sermon will reprise her role as Maisie Lockwood, as will Justice Smith as Franklin Webb, and Daniella Pineda as Dr. Zia Rodriguez. Smith and Pineda's characters were not heavily developed in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but they were both left alive, so hopefully, the sequel will explore them further. Dr. Wu (B.D. Wong) will also return; a morally ambiguous character, he is likely to want to continue his cloning research. Along with Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Campbell Scott, and DeWanda Wise, Omar Sy and Jake Johnson will return.

Jurassic Park's Main Stars Will Also Return

In addition to Owen, Claire, and the other returning Jurassic World cast members, Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Satler (Laura Dern), and Dr. Ian Malcolm from Jurassic Park are set to reunite onscreen for the first time since 1993. Director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed that these will not be mere cameos, as the original Jurassic Park trio of Neill, Dern, and Goldblum will appear in the entire film, and together at that. They will also appear in a parallel story to Owen and Claire's that will eventually intersect with them.

Jurassic World 3 Is Officially Done

The Jurassic World film has finally finished production. After production was halted fairly early in the process, audiences were concerned about the potential for a significant delay in the release date. However, director Colin Trevorrow confirmed that Jurassic World 3 is officially finished, which means that more promotional material will be released as the release date approaches.

Trevorrow made the decision to do this in order to provide something new to fans while also shining a light on a time period that is sure to fascinate dinosaur fans. A five-minute prologue can be seen on YouTube, showing the dinosaurs in their natural habitat before tearing through a movie theatre. The prologue came out on November 23, 2021. While not technically a trailer, it does provide fans with a glimpse of the new franchise's cutting-edge realistic CGI technology.

Jurassic World 3 Introduces 7 New Dinosaur Species

Seven new species will make their first appearances in the Jurassic Park/World franchise in Jurassic World Dominion, another first for Jurassic Park/World fans. A brand new Atrociraptor image from Jurassic World 3 demonstrates that the films will always be dedicated to the destructive Raptor species. Giganotosaurus, Dreadnoughtus, Quetzalcoatlus, Oviraptor, Nasutoceratops, Iguanodon, and Morus Intrepidus are among the other new dinosaurs introduced in Jurassic World 3. Another first will be that some of the dinosaurs seen will have feathers. The Gigantosaurus will most likely get the most attention, fighting the T-Tex in the prologue and later appearing in the present.

Jurassic World 3 Needs Some New Villains

Many of the characters from Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom were eaten or otherwise killed by the dinosaurs, so there will undoubtedly be new villainous roles based on the dinosaurs. Wong has suggested that Dr. Henry Wu from Jurassic Park isn't necessarily a villain, but that his actions won't lead to more bad things happening. However, there are many characters in the franchise who have questionable morals, and it will be interesting to see which of them rises to become the antagonist for Jurassic World Dominion.

There Will Be No More Hybrid Dinosaurs

Aside from the refined special effects, the use of hybrid dinosaurs has defined the Jurassic World franchise. The Indominus Rex was introduced in Jurassic World, while the Indoraptor was shrunk in the Fallen Kingdom. According to director Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World 3 will not feature hybrid dinosaurs. While this plot thread has allowed for creatures with supernatural attacks, it has also diverted attention away from the more classic dinosaurs that Jurassic Park fans fell in love with/feared. Jurassic World 3 Is Not The End Of The Trilogy
