OPPO launched the Reno8 series in China in May, with three new phones: the OPPO Reno 8 Pro+, the Reno 8 Pro, and the standard Reno 8. The OPPO Reno8 and Reno8 Pro devices are expected to be launched in India in the coming weeks with a significant change. The company has announced a new Iris Purple color option for the device ahead of its launch in India and globally.

The new color option joins the existing three color options for the OPPO Reno8 Pro and Reno8. Pre-orders for the new Iris Purple colorway are now open in China, and the device will begin shipping on July 2nd. Let's take a closer look at the new color option.

OPPO Reno8 Pro, OPPO Reno 8 Iris Purple Colour Variant Launched

The OPPO Reno8 Pro was launched in Slightly Drunk, Encounter Blue, and Night Black colourways, while the Reno8 was launched in Slightly Drunk, Clear Sky Blue, and Night Black colourways. The new Iris Purple joins the trio, and it's now available for pre-order on OPPO Shop in China. It is unknown whether the new color variant will be available in India.

The Reno 8 Pro has a 120Hz 6.62-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and is powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 SoC with a 2.4GHz clock speed. It has up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The rear camera configuration includes a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro snapper. For selfies, there is a 32MP Sony IMX709 snapper on the front. The Reno 8 Pro+ is powered by a 4500mAh battery and an 80W Super Flash charger.

Oppo Reno 8: Specifications

The standard OPPO Reno 8 has a 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display and a screen refresh rate of 90Hz. The Reno 8 has up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC with a clock speed of up to 3GHz.

The Reno 8 also includes a 50MP main camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP b&w sensor, and a 2MP macro shooter. For selfies, there is a 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor on the front. The device includes a 4,500mAh battery and supports 80W fast charging.

The OPPO Reno 8 Pro costs CNY 2999 (Rs 35,000), while the Reno 8 costs CNY 2499 (Rs 29,100).
