Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, Galaxy Watch 5 Pro Launched

Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy Watch 5 series, the company's next-generation smartwatches. As in previous years, Samsung has announced two new smart wearables, but the names have changed this time. While the standard model remains the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5, instead of Classic, we now have the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro.

The Galaxy Watch 5 has the same screen size as the previous model and is protected by Sapphire Crystal Glass for increased durability and protection. The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has a digital wheel, indicating that Samsung has abandoned the physical rotating bezel (at least for now).

The most notable addition is the fast charging feature, which was absent from previous generations of Galaxy smartwatches. Both smartwatches run Google's WearOS, and here's everything you need to know about them.

The Galaxy Watch 5 is available in 44mm (1.4-inch) and 40mm (1.2-inch) sizes with an AMOLED display and is protected by Sapphire Crystal Glass, an upgrade from Gorilla Glass. The smartwatch supports a variety of sports modes, some of which are detected automatically as you begin your workout.

Sleep coaching is a significant addition. Samsung collaborated with sleep centers to make this feature a reality. Keeping the watch on for seven days provides you with daily missions to help you sleep better. The 44mm version has a 410mAh battery, while the 40mm version has a 284mAh battery. In 75 minutes, the device can charge from 0 to 100%. The 44mm version comes in Graphite, Sapphire, and Silver, while the Small 40mm version comes in Graphite, Pink Gold, and Silver.

This watch has a digital wheel rather than a physical one, but it performs the same function as the rotating bezel. There's also a new magnetic d-buckle strap that makes it simple to put on and take off. For adventurers, the Watch 5 Pro comes with GPX 5 tracking and a large 590mAh battery with fast charging support.

Both watches are powered by the Exynos W920 SoC and run WearOS 3.5, with the One UI Watch4.5 skin. Both come with 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. Samsung BioActive Sensor (Optical Heart Rate + Electrical Heart Signal + Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis), Temperature Sensor, Accelerometer, Barometer, Gyro Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, and Light Sensor are included in both Watch5 series smartwatches. Optional LTE, Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, 5ATM + IP68 rating, and MIL-STD-810H certification are also common.
