The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 series is set to debut later this year. Instead of the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Classic, the company is expected to release a new model called the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro this time. If this is true, the company will release the standard Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro.

The Galaxy Watch 5 Pro has previously been rumoured to feature sapphire glass and a titanium build, with some reports claiming that the watch will include a thermometer function. The wireless charger for the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 has been spotted on the FCC website, revealing the device's charging speed.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Spotted on FCC Website

The wireless charger for the upcoming Galaxy Watch 5 has been spotted on the FCC website, with the EP-OR900 model number revealing the wearable's charging specifications. The wireless charger could be a reference to the watch's charging base, which should be similar to what we've seen on previous Watch 4 and Watch 3 series models. According to the database, the wireless charger will have a 5W output.

It is currently being tested at a charging speed of 5W. However, given Samsung's track record, we believe the company will stick with the 5W charging speed with the Galaxy Watch 5 series as well. Both the last-generation Galaxy Watch 4 series, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and the Watch 4 Classic, support 5W charging.

Aside from this, the website provided little information about the upcoming smart wearable. There is also speculation that Samsung intends to remove the beloved clicky rotating bezel, but there has been no confirmation of this. The Galaxy Watch 5 series, as well as the next-generation foldable, are expected to be unveiled at an Unpacked event in August.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic are currently available in India for Rs 17,999 and Rs 34,999, respectively. These watches run on the Wear OS 3 platform, and the upcoming Watch 5 series watches are expected to use Google's Wear OS operating system, as well as their own UI and customizations. Unlike the Galaxy Watch 4 series, the Watch 5 is expected to ship with Google Assistant.
