Xiaomi 12 Ultra Camera Specifications Tipped

Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be the Chinese smartphone manufacturer's top-end Android smartphone offering, launching in the coming weeks. Ahead of the launch, Digital Chat Station (DCS) (Via GizmoChina) revealed the device's primary camera specifications. According to the source, Sony is developing a new sensor for the IMX9 series. The 50MP sensor could be designated as IMX989. This high-end sensor could be 1-inch in size and will be unveiled alongside the Xiaomi 12 Ultra.

In the past, alleged renders of the device have surfaced. According to these images, the 12 Ultra will have a large circular camera module with four sensors. A 50MP sensor will be included as one of the four sensors. The device is also said to have a 48MP ultrawide camera as well as a 48MP telephoto camera sensor with 5x optical zoom. More zooming capabilities could be provided by the fourth sensor.

In addition, some additional information has been leaked. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC, Qualcomm's next flagship chipset, is expected to power the device. The chipset will be built on a 4nm process and will outperform the current Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It will have up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. Out of the box, there will be a 4900 mAh battery with support for 120W fast charging. The Xiaomi flagship will include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support.

A 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate support will be on the front. The display will most likely be curved, with a hole-punch cutout in the top centre. Finally, the phone will ship with the Android 12-based MIUI 13 operating system.
