Xiaomi announced the 12 series, which includes three smartphones, but the successor to last year's flagship has yet to arrive. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra was released early last year, but there has been no word from the company on when the Mi 12 Ultra will be released.

According to a new report, the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra could be released in the second quarter of this year. The phone will also be among the first smartphones to be powered by the powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+ SoC, according to reports. Let's take a closer look at the Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra, including specifications, features, and everything we know so far.

Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra May Launch by June 2022

The Mi 12 Ultra will be equipped with a stunning 2K curved display manufactured by Samsung, with a single punch hole cutout on the front housing the selfie camera, according to popular Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo. It is very likely an AMOLED panel with LTPO 2.0 support and a high refresh rate.

The design could be a continuation of previous leaks, which revealed a large circular camera module on the back and an edge-to-edge screen. The phone is said to have a large camera module, but not as shown in previous renders.

The Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra is said to have at least four rear camera sensors, one of which could be the much-desired Telephoto lens. The rear camera system could include a primary, secondary ultra-wide, super-telephoto, and 5X zoom lens. Xiaomi is expected to maintain its lead on the DXO benchmark charts.

The Xiaomi Mi 12 Ultra could be the first smartphone to have a Leica partnership, similar to what OnePlus did with Hasselblad. According to previous reports, the upcoming flagship smartphone will support 120W fast charging and have a 4,900mAh battery. It will be available in three different finishes: glass, ceramic, and vegan leather.
