POCO recently unveiled its latest entry-level C-series offering, the POCO C50, in the Indian market. The latest information suggests that the company will soon release another smartphone in the C-series - the POCO C55. Kacper Skrzypek, a reliable tipper, recently claimed the existence of the POCO C55. Kacper also claimed that the upcoming POCO C55 will be a rebranded Redmi 12C, which was recently released in China.

For those who are unaware, the recently released POCO C50 is a rebranded Redmi device. In fact, all of POCO's C-series smartphones are rebranded Redmi smartphones. The POCO C31, which was released in 2021, was essentially a rebranded Redmi 9 Active. Kacper took to Twitter to share his discovery. Kacper did not specify whether his discovery was based on MIUI code, but the tipster's claims are typically based on MIUI code discoveries. The Redmi 12C has a 6.71-inch HD+ (1650 720 pixels) display with a brightness of 500nits, a contrast ratio of 1500:1, and a waterdrop notch. The latest Redmi smartphone is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 processor with an integrated Mali G52 GPU. The Helio G85 has been on several mid-range smartphones for over three years, including the Redmi Note 9, Realme Narzo 20, Micromax IN Note 1, Moto G31, and others.

In terms of optics, the Redmi 12C has a dual-rear camera setup. The device's primary sensor is a 50MP shooter with an f/1.8 aperture. It comes with a 2MP depth sensor and an LED flash. It has a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. The smartphone includes a 5000mAh battery and 10W charging support. It has a micro-USB charging and data transfer port.

The Redmi 12C is available in four different colours: black, blue, green, and purple. The smartphone weighs 192 grams and has dimensions of 168.76 76.41 8.77mm. It has a dedicated micro-SD card slot as well as a fingerprint scanner on the back. The phone runs MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12.

The Redmi 12C is available in three variants: 4GB + 64GB, 4GB + 128GB, and 6GB + 128GB. The 4GB + 64GB variant costs RMB 699 (approx Rs 8,500), the 4GB + 128GB variant costs RMB 799 (approx Rs 9,700), and the 6GB + 128GB configuration costs RMB 899 (approx Rs 11,000).
