Samsung Galaxy S23 series are likely to be used Only Qualcomm chips

Reports that Samsung will equip the upcoming Galaxy S23 series with Qualcomm chipsets are becoming more credible. As of now, Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon has hinted that they will be fortifying Qualcomm chipsets on the S23 series, lending credence to what previous speculations have suggested.

Qualcomm chipsets will be used exclusively in the Samsung Galaxy S23 series.

Amon stated that they are already producing 75% of the chips for the Galaxy S22 series. He also hinted that if they can do 75 percent now, imagine what they can do in Galaxy S23 and beyond. Although Amon did not specifically state that they will be doing 100% of the Galaxy S23 devices, there is still a lot of room between 75 and 100% that it could lay out now that the Exynos SoC is almost out of the picture.

Exynos has always been labeled as a processor that heats up frequently and does not produce as much power as Snapdragon SoCs. The Exynos 2200 SoC mounted on the S22 series also failed to impress the masses when compared to the Snapdragon 898 SoC used by its other variant.

Furthermore, the upcoming Exynos 2230 5G and 2300 SoCs may have disappointed the South Korean conglomerate, which is why the makers are enlisting Qualcomm to extend its support, which is likely to be much higher than 75%.

Samsung and Qualcomm have extended their patent licensing until 2030, allowing them to benefit from 3G, 4G, 5G, and even 6G technology.

When it comes to the in-house Exynos chipsets, it is likely that Samsung will start from scratch rather than rely on incremental improvements. Having said that, the process will take long enough to miss the launch of the Galaxy S23 series in January or February of next year. Given that it is a flagship device, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series is likely to use a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. However, it remains to be seen how many units Qualcomm can sell in the upcoming series.
