POCO M5 4G India Launch Officially Teased: Mediatek G99 SoC, Leather Back

POCO is expected to launch a new phone in India soon, and the company has now begun to tease it officially. According to rumors, the device will be called the POCO M5 4G and will go on sale early next month. POCO previously teased a device with a Mediatek Helio G99 SoC, and the company has teased it again.

POCO took to Twitter to confirm that their next phone will be an M series device powered by the Mediatek Helio G99. The Mediatek Helio G99 is a mid-range gaming chipset that will first be seen in the Infinix Note 12 Pro on August 26 in India.

POCO has cleverly teased us with an image and caption of the phone's back. The post is titled "M bringing sexy back," and the image attached below suggests a leather back due to the textures. It appears that the POCO M5 4G will have a leather back.

POCO M5 4G: Specifications and Features

The POCO M5 4G is said to have a Full HD+ resolution 6.58-inch IPS LCD display panel. The phone is expected to have a refresh rate of 90Hz. POCO has indirectly confirmed that the phone will be powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G99 processor. We can expect the handset to have 4GB and 6GB of storage, similar to its predecessor. It could boot Android 12 right away.

The upcoming POCO M-series smartphone will almost certainly have a leather back panel and a fingerprint sensor mounted on the power button. The device is expected to have a 5000mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. We can expect the company to release teasers for the upcoming launch in the near future. The POCO M5 has already received FCC and NBTC certifications, so we can anticipate its official launch in other global markets.

According to previous reports, the device will be released in India in September 2022 and will cost less than Rs 15,000. According to the NBTC certification website, the upcoming POCO M5 series will include another phone called M5s.
